Thank you to Team Defenders rider, Austin, for supporting mentoring through your participation in El Tour de Tucson! Your generous support and commitment to Big Brothers Big Sisters makes mentoring in Southern Arizona possible.

Joseph and Big Brother Austin are part of the mentor2.0 program's first-ever graduating class. The two have been matched for 3 years and really miss getting out and spending time together. The two have gone on cave tours, bowling, hatchet throwing, and were planning a paintball outing before COVID-19.

During this time of separation, Austin and Joseph have been keeping in contact through phone calls, texts, and playing online games. Joseph also has a unique skill and passion for customizing shoes and restoring them. Joseph plans to use the profits from his custom shoes to pay for college. He plans to make his passion a career after continuing his education.

As a gift for his Big Brother, Joseph customized a pair of shoes for him. You can see the before and after in the photos. You can also check Joseph out on his Instagram page at @mystics_customs

Join us in congratulating this fantastic match supported by Team Defenders!
