To ensure physical distancing does not mean social disconnection, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Arizona has launched our Virtual Bigs program. This program will allow volunteers to make an impact virtually while spending quality time with their Little’s.

Are you ready to make a difference and become a Defender of Potential? Are you looking for an online option? We have the perfect program for you.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Arizona is now proud to offer our Families and Volunteers an entirely online program to be a Virtual Big. This program allows you to BE the difference in a youth’s life remotely from your computer or cell phone.

How does being a Virtual Big work?

As a Virtual Big, you simply need to have access to a video chat device and be able to spend 30 minutes a week engaging with your Little Brother or Little Sister.

Virtual Matches will meet once a month for an organized SoAzBigs event.

What will we do while online?

This program allows you to help your Little in many ways: You can help with homework, play games, learn a new skill, share in movies, read… the list goes on. (be sure to check out our video at the top of the page to get some inspiration)

Do I need to pass background checks?

As a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Arizona, you will need to comply with and pass a series of background checks to be accepted into the program. We will guide you along the way.

Will I need to come to the office at all?

When becoming a Virtual Big, your entire onboarding process will be done virtually from the inquiry, orientation, interview, and matching. We want to make this process simple and comfortable for you as we possibly can. You can always contact Carlos carlos@soazbigs.org or Melissa Melissa@soazbigs.org with any onboarding process questions.
