May was a milestone for the 19 Amphitheater High School Students who participated in the inaugural class of our Mentor 2.0 program. These past four years have been life changing for the students; with the support of their committed Bigs and our dedicated team, these freshmen became graduating seniors with a tool kit of important life skills and the lifelong connection to their Big.

19 young adults are ready to take the world on! They have learned to manage schedules and priorities, apply for jobs, have meaningful relationships and advocate for themselves all while keeping up with their schoolwork, engaging in extracurricular activities and participating in BBBS weekly activities.

Our littles say it best-

"It’s helpful having my mentor to help guide me in the right direction" - Joey Z.

"My mentor always gave me good advice and she has been through this, so it helps me" - Ariana A.

And Program Coordinator, Denise,  sums it up for our entire organization: "Class of 2020, you did it! All your hard work paid off. I am extremely proud of every single one of you and your achievements. It has been a pleasure to be part of your high school journey. I can’t wait to see what the future holds. Remember, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined," Henry David Thoreau. Good luck on your next adventure!" Denise Burruel, Senior mentor2.0 Program Coordinator

Join us in celebrating these students’ accomplishments as they begin their next chapter: 17 students plan on attending community college, 4 are joining the workforce, one is enrolling in Technical school and another has chosen to serve our country. We can’t wait to watch these young people shape our world!
